To make it possible that an user can tell which version is in use.

Note that an actual version string has to be found. For now it is marked with a FIXME

In issue #25 was asked which version is been used.

@stappersg git status inside your checkout folder is sufficient - so I don't see the point of adding it as a command/func to the plugin.
