Optional Quantity Slider to show total ingredients based on slider value #119

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

The recipe shows how many ingredients are needed to produce 1 selected item. When I am looking to see how many total ingredients I need for X amount of items, I have to multiply each ingredient to see how many I'll need.

Describe the solution you'd like

A slider bar to change the total ingredient amount based on how many items I need from that recipe

Additional context

Optional setting that can be configured in the GUI.

I don't feel that this is in scope for Recipe Book. You can use Rate Calculator to get that information.

I think there is some misunderstanding here. If I wanted to craft 20 flamethrower turrets, I have to multiply each ingredient by 20 to get the total number of each ingredient to make 20 of them.

How do you use rate calculator to produce this figure?

I think that would be better served by a mod like helmod or factoryplanner.

I think that would be better served by a mod like helmod or factoryplanner.

Factory Planner doesn't have a feature to produce total number of items to completion. Its "how many items per minute/second/hour"

Does helmod have a feature? Seems cumbersome to produce some "plan" just to multiply a recipe by a number for the goal here

Edit: I guess I am wrong about FP, I could just put, for example, 23 as the total per timescale and it would give me the amount I need in total to satisfy the build.

My idea would be something like an input field on the product section and it would just update the values above. image

I see, I did misunderstand what you were saying originally. However, I still don't think this really fits in Recipe Book. The displayed information is all static information, and adding this would be difficult for implementation-related reasons. Sorry.
