Compatibility issue with Office 2013 #30

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Office 2013 Preview (mine is x64)
2. Get it Mactyped
3. Have a look at those Chinese characters

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The characters shouldn't be that thin.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest Mactype
Office 2013 Preview x64
On Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Please provide any additional information below.
This issue is technically easy for developers. Please look into it and solve in
next version. Thanks in advance.

Office 2013 preview uses directwrite to render fonts which is also the way
ie9/ie10 deals with. Currently only DirectWrite tweak is supported by mactype
whose effect is far from acceptance. that's why you see such ugly font
rendering.

What is the DirectWrite tweak you mentioned? Would be so nice to have any way
to get MacType working on Office 2013/365--I hate looking at ugly text! :)
