Low priority: Move JDBC postgres adapter fix to the JDBC postgres adapter.

huh, now the jdbc specs are not passing

It seemed to pass when I had jruby setup locally before... I'll try and get it reproduced locally this week. I dont see it as necessary to hold the release for this.
