Generic Error when trying to create events #1251

I tried to create an event, (clojurebridge2022), and was faced with the following generic error when trying to create it

"We're sorry, but something went wrong.
We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly."

The event is created, so the failure step is happening after event being saved to db.

Same in Chrome; I think the mail provider account is broken . If after registration you return, it tells you you haven't confirmed the account. When you ask to resend confirmation, you get the same error.
