10 years ago We are on track for our goal of offering two workshops a month! It looks like August and September are both set, so I've created this issue as a container for organization of the October front-end workshop.
I've designated this thread as the front end workshop as a starting point, feel free to edit it.

10 years ago @rachelmyers Do you know how likely it is that the mobile workshop will happen in October? If it's probably going to happen, we should close this issue and not try to have three workshops in a single month.

10 years ago As of this week, organizing for the Mobile Workshop seems to have picked up, so it seems likely to happen in October. I'm totally on board for not having too many workshops into a single month to avoid asking too much of organizers and volunteers, but I bet the volunteer base for the Mobile Workshop is fairly separate from the front end or rails workshop. :thought_balloon:
But! We should also keep the Oakland workshop on our radar, since the venn diagram for SF and Oakland volunteer bases probably has a lot of overlap. (That workshop is currently set for September, but after they find a venue it might end up being in October.) And they haven't set a curriculum yet, so if it becomes a front end workshop, maybe we push this one back and see what we can help them with?

10 years ago Yeah, since we've had a lot of front end workshops recently, I'm especially inclined to close this one and pick front end back up in November or December.

9 years ago Are we moving this event back to November/December for sure? I have a contact at Upsight that is interested in hosting an event in October. They are located in SOMA.

9 years ago We've got a probable three workshops in October (Rails, Mobile, Rails in Oakland), and adding a fourth seems to be asking too much. I'm worried about volunteer burnout.
Would they be up for hosting in November or December? Is there a reason for the urgency, or just scheduling is easier for them in October?

Just an update, @mariohsieh and I are looking to hold this on the 6th Dec. Unfortunately Upsight went out of sight (heuheu, much pun.) so we need another venue. Does anyone have a place to recommend? Looking to house 50 pax.
An alternative date is 13th Dec.
