Open Source Pairing Workshop continues!

background: an intermediate workshop where more experienced devs (anyone who knows JS and/or Ruby who has done a pull request before and is comfortable diving into a new open source project) are paired with workshop grads.

Project: open source project -- it is a good-for-the-world open data project that will feature an exciting new data set, utilizing Ruby and JavaScript.

@mtvillwock I emailed the devbootcamp folks, but the emails are bouncing... can you intro us via email? I'm sarah -at- ultrasaurus -dot- com

@ultrasaurus C5 is happy to host the next one. Next week is bad but the week of 9/24 is open.

A lot of C5 is out of town that week, but I'm happy to organize if you don't have any other takers.

ultrasaurus commented 8 years ago

Thurs 9/24 could work for me. The next week I'm in DC at beginning of week and the end of the week is the Code for America summit.

aneyzberg commented 8 years ago

I could help with that on 9/24

shamus commented 8 years ago

Ok, I'll set this up for 9/24 on bridge troll at the end of today. I'll make both @ultrasaurus and aneyzberg organizers as well. I will reach out to c5 to volunteer.

I'm gonna put 10 volunteers, 20 students.

aneyzberg commented 8 years ago

That sounds good to me.

shamus commented 8 years ago

I created the event in bridge troll on Monday. Just waiting for the event to be approved.

@ultrasaurus @aneyzberg are there plans for another pairing workshop this month? Talked with @shamus about it a couple weeks ago, but was out of town for the last one. I'm interested in volunteering.

aneyzberg commented 8 years ago

@raebot I think we were planning on having an event this month. I think It was just a matter of finding a space for it. I will keep you posted

Hello! @siruguri provided me with this event link. Can I connect with you, @ultrasaurus or @aneyzberg about how this went? A few volunteers and I are planning a RailsBridge hackthon-style/pairing event for November 2016 with a sponsor/venue lined up and we are trying to determine the content for the event. We'd love to hear how this went and things to focus on or not do based on your experiences.

@akanshmurthy We have talked about it a bit, but we can definitely talk more about it. Let em know when works for you.

akanshmurthy commented 7 years ago

Cool, thanks! Will follow up soon.
