RailsBridge Workshop in Edinburgh, UK Date: November 11 2016

First time organising a RailsBridge workshop in Scotland it seems! Looking forward to introducing new folk to solving problems with computers.

A checklist? A checklist. We are fans of checklists

A few months out:

• [x] Decide on a date
• [x] Confirm Venue (see http://railsbridge.org/help/host)
• [x] Work out budget for the workshop
• [x] Find sponsors for the workshop, based on budget
• [x] Find at least two co-organizers. It's a lot of work, but always a lot of fun. No experience is necessary; checkout the workshop cookbook if it's new to you.
• [x] Reach out to local groups for under-represented groups in tech

Once we have a a venue, sponsors, and organizers, we can:

• [x] Decide on an RSVP limit that works
• [ ] List the event on BridgeTroll
• [x] Post the workshop to Meetup for publicity
• [x] Find volunteers for the teaching workshop sessions
• [ ] Arrange childcare at the venue :family:

Two weeks out:

• [x] Arrange Catering for the InstallFest, then breakfast and lunch for the workshop

One week out:

• [x] Teacher training/install fest training
• [x] Make sure you have all the necessary objects

After the workshop, we can:

• [x] Retro

We ran the event, and it went really well! A bunch of notes for next time, but what a great start.
