newrelic_plugin.yml - Using Heroku

Hi Guys Not sure if I am missing something but here are my questions

Why is newrelic_plugin.yml hardcoded to be located in /etc/newrelic makes it harder to deploy to Heroku. I think this is why you require to install the gem with sudo ? It would be great to not have to do that
Have you considered using environment variables instead ? These are much safer and easier to update without requiring a push for example and also not needing to run newrelic_resque_agent install
