Performance Concepts Disk

• IOPS: input/outpus operations per second. the standard measurement for disk performance. read IOPS, write IOPS, total IOPS.

Jumbo Frames: Ethernet frames with more than 1500 bytes of payload.

Hop Counts: the total number of devices a packet passes through in order to reach its intended network target. the more hops data, the greater the delay. ping can be used to determine the hop count : TTL, TTL count (1 to 254).
