Lightify Cloud Server Switch-Off #24

Will the Lightify Cloud-Server deactivation on August 31st 2021 affect the functionality of this plugin? Will it continue to work as usual or is it dependent on Osram‘s servers?

This plugin utilizes the local api so we should be good there. I think the issues you will see will be managing devices using the app. Best to plan to move your devices to another gateway by then Aug 2021. I hear Hubitat is fantastic.

Assuming I have a bunch of bulbs that all came with a lightify hub is there a way to get that hub onto my wifi without the cloud server now that it's gone? Will just installing the osram app be sufficient? Can the lightify control other zigbee bulbs such as Ge Link?

So i'm guessing all these bulbs I've had sitting in a box are paperweights now because I 1) can't create an account to log into the app and 2) can't log the hub onto MY wifi so same reason.

The bulbs are fine. You will just need another hub. I got hubitat and it is awesome - wish I had made the switch years ago.
