Chainlink is a leading provider of onchain and offchain datafeeds.
As such RAIRprotocol will explore integrating Chainlink into our open-source infrastructure for a variety of useful dApp deployment functions.
Initial research
VRF - v1 of VRF was implemented into RAIRprotocol in 2021 to provide randomization to the NFT minting process. Code has since been deprecated and will need to be updated to work with the latest versions of VRF
Market and datafeeds - Simplest implementation of Chainlink. Query data directly via chainlink decentralized oracle network. Has advantages over current Coingekko centralized API approach required for more hardened defi applications.
Functions - allows users to query any offchain data. Create a simple dApp implementation using functions to query interesting data. E.g. Sports scores. Allow users to interact with data in a simple flow. E.g. choose team A or team B prior to start of game. Mint winning NFT to game-winner accounts only.
