No way to solve puzzles that use numbers #69

Today's LA Times 21x21 puzzle has a theme where some squares contain numbers. 
On Shortyz 4.0.7, I appear to have no way to input these numbers: even if I 
change the on-screen keyboard style to "Native", which contains a numeric row, 
pressing the number simply causes the "back" arrow in the top left corner to 
become highlighted, without entering anything in the square.
