i'm getting the same message (ad-hoc mode failed) on AT&T samsung galaxy s2

I am getting the same message on my Samsung galaxy sII skyrocket in my logs.
Shows up as hot spot but never connects. I am rooted running 2.3.6 gingerbread

It seems to work (even in infrastructer/master-mode) if you choose.
Device-profile: Samsung Galaxy S
Setup-mehod: netd
in app-settings.
Please check (and confirm). If it really works this method will be the
default-behavior in future.

works using this setting. please include bluetooth connection, instead of wifi.
battery becomes a huge issue! Thank!

i was having the same issue wifi tether and so many tether apps do not work on
galaxy s2, the correct app is the one called WIRELESS TETHER created by harold
muller, sofia lemons and others developers, once i installed that one no issues
at all.
