The client needs to support joining ad-hoc-networks. I think the psp is not
capable
doing that.

The PSP Go does not support ad-hoc internet connections. It only supports
ad-hoc
connections to other PSPs for multi-player gaming. We need DUN support so we
can
tether via bluetooth.

The original PSP doesn't understand 802.11g or n - (the Go understands 11g I
believe). The earlier DS's had the same issue.

The original DS and Lite, as well as PSP require Infrastructure WiFi
connections for internet.

Both support Ad-hoc, but only for inter-game connection link play. Neither
will connect to internet through Ad-hoc.

I have tested this with DS, DSL, PSP 1k, PSP 2k, and PSP 3k. I have neither a
PSP Go, nor a DSi, nor know anyone who does, so I cannot test with those
devices.

The Go has the same WiFi as all other PSPs. And yea, like others have said,
Ad-Hoc only for PSP<->PSP gaming. To tether a Go you need to use Infrastructure
with your phone set up as a Bluetooth modem using the DUN profile (Dial Up
Networking).

So only the PSPgo is capable of tethering (can't do it with the "K" series).
It's a pretty useless feature anyway, since the connection is too slow for
gaming.

Why not allow the tether program to support b? The psp does see that...
