I sent an email to admin@opensubtitles.org as mentioned from [1] to get registered.

I got my user agent, but why does any user agent seem to work fine? There is no way to validate I'm using the correct user agent if any random string is also working. I emailed to ask them about user agent validation.

The wrong user agent wasn't actually working. The response was just being sent back from cloudflare cache according to support@opensubtitles.org.
