rtorrent takes too long to add a torrent #856

Hi. I have a dedicated server with rtorrent and ruTorrent installed. Currently I am seeding 263 torrents and they have been really great. So today I want to add another torrent and it took me more than 30 minutes to be added. When I try to add a torrent, it will give a successful message but that torrent won't appear in the list. After so long, it will then appear. If I create a torrent, it will also takes a lot of time to "checking".

I also had this issue with my previous installation on another servers but I never found the cause and how to solve it. Does anyone have a clue where should I start debugging?

I am running feature-bind branch with the latest commit. Currently I am using daemon mode, but it also happened with screen in the past.

I transferred all torrents to deluge and seed them with that client. Now rtorrent is responsive as usual again.

ruTorrent or the underlying hardware is most likely to blame in this case, 263 torrents is nothing.

I tried fluid and same issue happen.

@dausruddin have the same topic. Takes long to start the torrents. 6 CPU and 12GB Ram
