The Logitech Touch digital outputs remain on/active when the Touch is turned off (standby). This can easily be verified as light is visible on the optical output when the Touch is turned off.
Leaving the digital outputs active means that auto sensing DACs (eg Topping E30) also remain active. If the digital outputs were turned off, an auto sensing DAC would also turn off (standby) and turn on again when the Touch is turned on and the digital outputs become active. Related to this issue is that auto sensing DACs will not switch to a newly active connection, even if the Touch is turned off. If the Touch's digital outputs were turned off when the Touch was turned off, an auto sensing DAC would automatically switch to a newly active input, when the Touch was turned off.
