The current format (a list of text) is ugly, confusing, and doesn't show the
covers.

Do you know a program called "MP3 Diags"? It's a tool to fix MP3 files, edit
ID3 tags, etc. It has an interface where you have a couple of "guessers" to
complete the information of a disk. I think it's not the best (you have two
guessers with two different UIs which is a bit confusing), but it might give us
some ideas.

What about something like this?
We fill the text boxes with the info we have (if you don't want to use it for
search, you can delete it... this is how MP3 Diags does it). Then you hit
search and the list is populated. When you click in an item, you see the cover
on the right. If you like it, you hit save.

Maybe we can add to my suggestion a place to put some extra information about
the book (publisher, publication date, etc.) below the cover image.

Yes, I will add that.

Right now I am generating HTML and displaying it.

The advantage here is that we can show all the covers without bothering about
downloads, cache, and whatever, and the look can be made pretty. it's looking
like a simple solution.
