[eSpeak] Speaks XML source in navigation mode

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the eSpeak TTS provider from the market at 
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.marvin.espeak
2. Set eSpeak as the default provider
3. Close navigation (if it is running)
4. Navigate somewhere

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect navigation to produce normal spoken navigation instructions. Instead, 
the first instruction is normal, but after that, XML source is read out in a 
robotic voice.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

eSpeak for Android, version 1.0; Android OS 2.3 on the Nexus S

This is also an issue on the LG Optimus V with Android 2.2.1.
