hi Dan,
There are so many reply-to addresses here I'm sure you'll get a
deluge of emails, but I'm sending to your DFO address just in case.
Our research assistant Charmane has actually spent the last few
months updating all the DFO assessments published in the last few
years (about 2016 through to the end of 2019). However, it's always
valuable to have a second set of eyes look them over. Instead of a
colleague entering the data in the template, would the colleague
potentially be able to look over the stock summary pdf files and
check that the data seem reasonable for however many stocks they're
familiar with? We haven't had someone from Canada perform such a
round of QAQC, and that would be a valuable effort.
Not all the Canadian assessments that Charmane prepared have been
imported into RAM yet. Once they are, they will update the attached
pdf file.
(This file is located in sub-directory "RAM v4.491 Files
(1-10-20)\DB Files With Assessment Data\Stock Summary Files")
For reference, we have an updated template, also attached
(This file is located in sub-directory "RAM v4.491 Files
(1-10-20)\DB Documents")
Daniel H. still has to post that updated template on the
ramlegacy.org website and GitHub site.
I think all of the assessment entries generally get emailed to
Daniel H., but the option is there to submit through GitHub.
We've had some thoughts over the years to better structure the newer
version of the database. Right now we only have the issue tracker on
GitHub, not all the RAM code files. There were also some thoughts a
few years ago about potential involvement from NCEAS. I'm not up to
speed on what's involved in making a GitHub development tree open
for collaboration - would this apply if the code files were all up
on GitHub?
Happy to jump on Skype sometime this week if you have a moment.

is this the new preferred way to submit assessment updates? I am
hoping to have someone helping update Canadian assessments and
wondering if they should be submitted here.
Is the spreadsheet template provided here the most up-to-date?

Also, would the development tree ever be opened for
collaboration? It would reduce confusion since the development
tree from 10 years ago is still available on GitHub:
