I don't know if this issue has been reported before. In the VAC setup, no “German umlauts” are displayed in a German Windows when selecting input/output. Special German letters such as Ää, Öö, Üü are represented in hieroglyphs. See the screenshot.
The problem has existed since switching to a newer PortAudio version.
However, it's just a cosmetic thing. I just wanted to mention it once.
