How can i disable app icons from showing #769

I was referred to by the Explorer Patcher Team saying this is the place that can do it, so I'll copy-paste the question I had asked them.

I wanted to know if there is a feature in EP where I can stop the program icons from showing because I wanted to use a dock that I will get from rainmeter, so I can have the apps at the bottom and have the taskbar at the top without the apps showing just like the macOS Menu. I'd prefer not to get a third-party software because I prefer the Windows looks of it using EP.

I was planning to use a third party software to have a dock like these to know which apps are running. I'm pretty much just changing where the apps will be.

But I'm also realising that it's not as easy as I thought it'll be. Would you suggest another approach I should take or something that could give me the same results?

From your screenshot, you're using the old Windows 10 taskbar. There's no Windhawk mod to hide the task list for the old taskbar.

For the new Windows 11 taskbar, you can use Windows 11 Taskbar Styler. As far as I know, Explorer Patcher has an option to use the new Windows 11 taskbar, so you can try that.
