option to Remove Clock #338

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I already have a clock in the statusn bar on my phone. It would be great if the
clock could be removed or shrunk (greatly) so the widget space could be used by
the other extensions

Issue 344 has been merged into this issue.

This is of great importance. A simple change, but it would mean more people
would use this widget, and it would be of more use when used in a smaller space
on screen. Please implement this customisable option ASAP.

The fact that I am not able to remove this big clock is the only reason I am
thinking of removing the app. I love it otherwise but that clock is gonna get
on my nerves until I do something about it. My previous solution was working
just fine. I really hope you add this.

I would also like to vote for the option to hide or remove the clock.

I would like to see the clock as a dashclock extension. So remove the static
clock at top and add a build in clock extension.

With multiple clock extensions you could also add another clock for a different
time zone.

I would also like to show my support for this option. The modular nature of
this widget is one of its best features :-)

Great idea. I don't see the point in have 2 clocks right on top of each other
either.

I agree and have just emailed the devs requesting the same thing.

While I actually enjoy the look the clock offers it doesnt look good with the
new 4.2.2 update the HTC One received. They decided to leave the clock on the
lockscreen with no way to remove it. I hate up but it is what it is. So I
figured maybe an option to disable the clock would be the next best thing plus
you get more space for notifications B-)

Yes please, the HTC One has a lock screen option for using a 3rd party widget.
Dashclock would be ideal to display some useful information, except you can't
remove HTC's clock.

Being able to remove Dashclock's clock would be nice :-)

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Yes please!! As others have said, the HTC One already has a big (non-removable)
clock on the lockscreen, so when using dashclock you get two clocks on the
lockscreen (plus the one in the statusbar on the top) which really ruins the
experience! Would be great if you could remove the dashclock clock, and only
have the notifications (unless HTC decides to make their clock removable)..

This widget is SO CLOSE to bring perfect for me. I would just REALLY love a
toggle that turns OFF the clock & date display.

I vote for making the clock optional. My Nexus 4 already has a clock on the
lock screen - the second large one in dashclock is redundant and reduces the
space available for widgets.

Also an HTC One user. Would also appreciate the option to remove or hide the
clock, as we probably will not be getting this option from HTC.

Guys here is an APK that I built for myself. It shows clock in lockscreen but
not on homescreen. I haven't built a toggle for this. Try and let me know if it
works.

Could you hack it further to remove clock from the lockscreen also?

Yeah, I'de like #28 idea as well. No clock either on the lockscreen or in the

Allowing the main time/date to be removed and being able to add it as an
extension would improve the usefulness of this exponentially for me by allowing
for a more configurable look and feel!

I have long since switched to a Google edition ROM on my HTC one but I had an
idea, have two types of extensions, the current one row ones and a two row one.
In addition make the clock itself an extension.

stubborn. You don't have to be.
