storymap from R? #278

I just saw this page but I can't find the code that created it. Was it by using R and rCharts?

It would be great if we could create a page like this using R!

The code that created it is here.

Currently, it is accepting data as a JSON file, so nothing fancy or different from StoryMapJS itself. The plan is to let people author this data file as a special markdown file, which will then be parsed to generate the underlying JSON and the chart.

StoryMapJS is in alpha, and their API might change. So be wary, if you are planning to use it for production.
