I came across this ticket while looking for a solution to the same error code
when using the thermal printing option on fedex.com. Is FedEx using jzebra? Is
there a workaround for this bug?

Hi, we managed to eventually fix our own problem and the steps of how we did
this are described here:

I hope this helps you.

Jean,
Thanks for your follow-up.
I was unaware of this error message, and Google Code does not notify me of bug
request, so sorry for the delay in response (alway feel free to email me:
tres.finocchiaro@gmail.com).
Due to the nature of raw printing in OS X, I had written a tutorial:
http://code.google.com/p/jzebra/wiki/TutorialRawOSX
This tutorial is nearly identical to the one linked on the Zebra forums.

Closing issue, since this is a symptom of OS X when a printer was not
explicitly created as a raw device. To set up an OS X printer as a raw
device, please follow this tutorial, or see this thread:

FedEx may be using jZebra. The FedEx demo site does use jZebra. Also, the
FedEx web developers are occasionally in communication with the jZebra project
and have done basic testing with jZebra for cross-browser and cross-platform
implementations.
