Darren suggested giving XP upon winning and tying it to resetting, which costs XP (unless the game is done). More XP for winning than for resetting, slightly? Also maybe scale the XP with the Elo rating (#28). I like this idea.
More plays for longer time means better buff. Balance something that encourages people to have a game of chess before going out, but isn't too OP or lamely gameable.
