[x] Working chessboard
[ ] Update rendering code to use matrix stacks + RenderSystem and not GlStateManager
[ ] Chessboard rendering

I also added a panel that renders below the chessboard Might be useful for adding a <color> to play text, a move log, timer, etc

Thanks for putting in the time :D I'm thinking I'll make a Fabric 1.16.5 branch for this to live.

In 6 days I defend for my Ph.D. Work on a 1.16.5 Forge update is one of the carrots I've been dangling in front of myself. One of the folks I work with is fond of Fabric too, so I'll see how that comes together and may stick my nose in. I'll definitely incorporate (with credit) anything that fits smoothly.

Note that I've released a 1.16.5 branch that is now the currently supported version. If you port some of your graphical changes there, I imagine we can look at merging them in at some point.
