empty login -- disable other screens

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. new account
2. click on artists or any other tab

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
shouldn't be able to do this

instead of making a new issue i'll just put comments here
  we probably should convert the "sites" setting screen to a general login/account
create screen;  so it's always displayed first; perhaps w/ something 
informative such
as a note when the app was last used.
  on settings it should have an additional "remember my password" (i.e. autologin)
checkbox.   so, if the (auto)login succeeds the next screen (artist list) is 
shown
otherwise it remains at the login/create screen.
