Checking/Unchecking Folder checkboxes in left panel does not update the map while pointing google maps to hosted KML file

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Host a kml file with folders <Folder> ( single level or nested folders )and 
placemarks in a public web.
2.Go to maps.google.com and point to the hosted kml file url. The file is 
loaded with placemarks. In left panel, there are checkboxes corresponding to 
kml folders. The checkboxes are checked.
3. Now unselecting or selecting the checkboxes again does not refresh the 
placemarks on the map. 
4. It works just fine in google earth. It also used to work just fine in 
maps.google.com before (last time I checked it working may be was couple of 
weeks ago). It is recently broken. Please fix this.

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?
Checking/Unchecking folder checkboxes in left panel should automatically update 
the placemarks shown in the map ( with the ones inside the folder that is 
selected).
It does not refresh the map. This is recent bug.
