Would be nice to have 512 KB REU for some Nostalgia games and Geos for caching data and for get fun with Ramdisk

randyrossi commented 5 years ago

You can most likely turn those on in vice.ini. Just no UI for it.

really?!?!

Y. Find the .ini key/value combo from either the docs. Or run Vice on desktop, turn on the feature and save settings. Then look at the .ini file to see what values got turned on. (Note, every platform has a different .ini filename I think. Might be vice-sdl.ini or something like that).

I will try that and if works (like surely will be), will close this FR, thanks again like always!

actually activating the REU through the VICE.INI it works (after creating the REU file and copied from the pc to the microsd of the BMC64), the problem is that this prevents the use of any other cartridges (Fast load or games) and you have to every time re-enter the file in question to put a ";" in the REU = 1 line to be able to deactivate it and return to being able to use game cartridges

I predict that with the upcoming REU-only Sonic the Hedgehog Master System port, this feature request will get a lot of activity in the next weeks. :-)

Enabling REU in vice.ini should work but, yeah, there's no convenient UI to do it.
