Oil economy is a really hot topic and being able to explore three different data sources at once sounds like a great idea!

Your proposal is clear and describes a specific and logical audience for your app
I like that all your code is organized into clear functions

The topic for your dashboard is very interesting. I think the audience for the dashboard would be able to derive some very important insights from your project. For the checkboxes, you could add an option to select all the regions. Also, you have to scroll to see the full plots. Maybe you could play around with size or placement so the user can view all the complete plots together. Great job!
