HubSpot Power BI doesn't appear in list of Online Services #2

After following the directions (copying HubSpot.mez, etc.), the HubSpot connector doesn't appear in Power BI Desktop Get Data Online Services.

Hi @tdavmey, Can you go to File->Options and settings->Options and enable this under Security?

After this, restart your Power BI Desktop and you should see the connector.

I have that options checked, but I don't see zendesk showing up in the other services field. Any idea why?

Hi @itadder , have you followed setup steps 5-8 correctly as outlined in? https://github.com/ranmax123/powerbi-custom-connectors#the-zendesk-support-tickets-connector

Double check step 7. When you have to zip, you zip only the contents. When you double click on the zip file do you see the zip contents or some folder? If you see some folder looks like you have not zipped correctly.

I know this is a bit of a task, but Power BI doesn't have a straight forward solution to it yet.

I have followed all steps that are mentioned for Hubspot, but also do not find it under Online Services. I'm not sure whether the original problem ever got solved?

I followed all the steps and HubSpot(beta) does not appear.

Have you placed the .mez file under C:\Users\\Documents\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors folder?

Which version of Power BI Desktop are you using?

Have you set "(Not recommended) Allow any..." under Options/Data Extensions

My apologies. There was a typo in the directory name. I am able to connect now. Can you talk about the security of the api key? How is it protected? Also, how can I add the analytics from HubSpot?

Hi I have it in all of these paths at the moment since I've been trying a lot of stuff... C:\Users\myUserName\Documents\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors C:\Users\myUserName\Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors

I also did enable the 'not recommended' option.

I installed PowerBI again today from the MS website so I assume it is the latest version.

(I also have an on-premises gateway installed and there I do see hubspot appearing so I'm not sure why it isn't working on PowerBI.)

@cmwatsonaspire Can you elaborate on above? The security of the key is taken care by Power BI Desktop through encryption known to itself only.

I believe for the August build I downloaded from Power BI Service per a Microsoft Support issue involving their QuickBooks Online Connector. Do I need to download from the Microsoft Store?

I'll try that test in a new file. I wish MS would synchronize versions in store, service, and their product site. I'm hoping what they call Accounts is Contacts. We have Contacts and Deals.

I have the latest store version, security set as instructed, files copied as instructed. Still no go! I can Teams with you and share screen if that helps. PBI version

One other item, which shouldn't be relevant though is I run Windows via Parallels on a MacBookPro. I logged into Windows and created the folders as instructed, where I launch Power BI Desktop from.

Unable to see the connector in both store and non-store versions as at October 2019 build: 2.74.

Any advice on how to get this working?

@brendansmallco that's quite unfortunate. Have you updated security settings to allow this connector? Please follow steps outlined in github readme and you should be good to go

Yep followed it to the letter. Ill give it another go in a few minutes, but I tried over-and-over with no luck.

I had the problem previously, but now I can fix the problem and it is working good.

I did the following steps.

  1. Create Folder in [Documents]\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors (Not "Microsoft Power BI Desktop") Refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connector-extensibility#data-extension-security

  2. Make sure that you download from the download page. You cannot do "Right Click - Save As/Save Link As". You must click "download button" Link here: https://github.com/ranmax123/powerbi-custom-connectors/blob/master/HubSpot/build/HubSpot.mez

  3. If above steps are not working, uninstall and install PowerBI again from below Link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494
