smbclient 4.3.11 and 4.7.6 fail to connect to the SMB server

Reproduce the error

• start the SMB server:

  ruby examples/file_server.rb --path /path/to/local/dir --no-smbv2 --no-smbv3 --username myuser --password 123456 --share public

• smbclient version 4.3.11 (Ubuntu 16.04)

  smbclient //<server_IP>/public -U \\myuser 123456 --debuglevel=5

  The client should return the following error:
