Ok seems like you have connection issues, is the atv connected via wifi of
cable? If its on wifi try using a cable.
I had the same issue on wifi and now i plugged it in by cable and it works
great.
If you are already on cable then there might be a problem on the porting on
your router.
Try it out and let me know how things work out

Hey thanks for your response. I tried plugging into the modem directly before
and it doesn't seem to work any better. The signal connection on apple tv
network settings shows full bar and its sitting right next to my
modem/router(all in one). As I mentioned, when I connected via wi fi at my
dad's house it connected perfectly and had zero streaming issues. Now his modem
is up in his office and has a seperate router. My modem has its router built
in. (not sure if that is an issue or not) I had the apple tv plugged directly
to the TV on the main floor. Another thing, my hdmi cable runs through my
reciever and is sent to my tv via the internal switcher (yamaha 6290b) I don't
see the hdmi causing any issues considering the video and audio work fine when
it's working. I'm not sure if having everything so close together is causing
interference. I also tapped into my modem/network settings and disabled the
internal firewall to see if it would make a difference. I think it helped a bit
but this was almost 2am and I was getting tired

Well an inbuild router shouldnt be a problem and the space between the devices
neither.
There must be something in the setting of ur router or some other issues with
your connection.
Need to brainstorm over this to come up with more solutions.

I also had this very problem... The only fix that worked for me was to upgrade
to a premium MegaUpload account...
Once I upgraded and entered tge login details to icefilms everything worked!

See that's what i don't understand. If that was the case, then the same
performance issues would have followed me to my dads house. But on his network,
it worked flawlessly with zero issues. That's what's making me think it's maybe
my modem or modem settings. Is there any setting that I can adjust on my
network to enable better streaming ???

Well the only thing i can come up with is there might be a problem with the
port forwarding, or the internal firewall.
Have u ever updated the firmware on your modem?

Well I really mucked it up now. I don't know what I tinkered with but now no
plugin will play period. (script error) Icefilms, hulu, the adult plugin,
nothing is working. I'm going to do a full restore and re jailbreak. I think it
had something to do with me deleting and adding the new megaupload.py
file....?? Before my tinkering, it actually played an episode of boardwalk
empire and a movie but I had to let it sit for several minutes before each
attempt which I've heard some people have had to do. With regards to paying the
subscription to the mega upload account, the whole idea of me doing this is to
watch free movies and with is working perfectly on different network I'm
convinced its my network or modem or modem settings. I'm going to exchange the
modem for a new one, full system restore, re jailbreak and add the plugins
again and see what happens. Sooooo frustrating!!! especially since I've seen it
work perfectly and someone else's house!! I'm consumed with getting this thing
to work at all costs ;) Thanks for your advise and input though!!!! appreciate
it!

So I've been reading a little further..... I've heard that disabling ip flood
protection and fire wall in your modem settings speeds up things significantly.
Aside from the entire reset, I hope this will work!!!Maybe explains why my
dad's old modem worked fine due it not having advanced protection features..
just a thought!

Sooooo....tweaked the settings on my modem, restored apple tv, re jailbroke
with an updated season pass, installed nito tv first and installed xbmc from
inside nito. (last time I ssh'd xbmc first than ssh'd nito. I think the way I
did it this time was better. Uploaded my plugins and icefilms now works
perfectly!! I tried 4 movies back to back and they all played right away. Mind
you my modem is an issue considering my internet package calls for 32mbps and
on speedtest.net it was fluctuating from 2-4mbps and sometimes spiking up to
20-30mbps. Very spiratic. (also when my macbook was plugged into my modem via
ethernet to make the setting changes, the mbps rate was lower than when I
unplugged and just used wifi. Definitely something wrong with the modem. Taking
it back and getting a new one today and that should hopefully take care of my
slow connection. I'm just glad the movies are buffering and playing and "NO
SCRIPT ERRORS" !!!!

Well im glad u got it sorted now, i think the way u installed xbmc and icefilms
may have been the issue.
I would certainly advise u to change the modem with fluctuatings like that.
All i can say now is : enjoy icefilms!
