vpr Makefile can't compile #19

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
make
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
make[1]: Entering directory `/net/leo/export/home1/jyu/VTR/vtr_release/vpr'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `$(dir)', needed by `OBJ/main.o'.  Stop.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
vtr final
linux 64

Please provide any additional information below.

Not enough info to reproduce.  I recommend checking your build environment.  Do 
you have the latest version of Make?
