Because it's an experimental device, sure the proof-of-concept is working if you stick to DOOM, but there are a few flaws that kinda keeps the project from being fully practical. If you know at least a bit about chipsets, etc., you could built one yourself. Sometimes, DIY is the only option when it comes to hacking existing devices.
