this will be very helpful. or at least a blog post on how to install it on the /site-packages locally.
@hankelvin, it won't be possible to install via /site-packages
I'm afraid. PyTorch includes native extensions, which need to be ported/re-compiled for iOS and embedded in the app (similar to NumPy, Matplotlib, Pandas, etc.)
Really need PyTorch. hope it.
I’m looking really hard for a justification to buy Juno. PyTorch would be it!
Any news on integration?
@Joshhua5 No news I'm afraid — TensorFlow and PyTorch remain the most-requested packages, but both will require a lot of effort I'm afraid! That said we are certainly going to work on it; however, before we invest many months into working on those, we try to resolve as many 'easier' package requests as we can.
The next big thing we are working on is upgrading Juno's environment to Python 3.9, as well as upgrading other libraries; after that things will be looking much better for TensorFlow and PyTorch. Apologies it's taking a while. 😔
Thank you for your update @navoshta May I ask if it is possible to at least add some support for reading .pt files through Juno? That will make it slightly useful to process the results locally. Thanks.
@wetliu Unfortunately, I don't think this would be possible without getting the rest of PyTorch to work...
Hi, just wondering if there’s any update on PyTorch or TensorFlow? Is it something you’re working on currently or planning to release at some point? Many thanks!
@tunamelon No updates as of now I'm afraid; although it's still something we would very much like to look into eventually. Bringing either PyTorch/TensorFlow to iOS is going to be an ambitious task (not sure if possible at all), so we are currently focusing on the packages that are much easier to add — leaving those that will definitely take some time for later.
