In fact, none of the links in the HTML view work at all (except for data product links, which cause a context menu to pop up), as the message at the top of the dialog already indicates. Making links work just like in a proper web browser would mean effectively turning Purr into a web browser, which is a whole can of worms I was hoping to avoid.
Still, I've had repeated complaints about the "Next/Prev" links in particular, and have caught myself clicking them repeatedly on a number of occasions. I think a "Next/Prev" link touches off some deep-seated Pavlovian instinct in modern Homo interneticus, so I'd better play along and make them work. It is probably easy enough to make just these links in particular work as expected, rather then implementing full browser functionality.
Fixed in r8255. Even better, the "Up" links invokes the full log viewer, and the full log viewer has working links for individual entries.
