Right now any code changes are just discarded.

This could be a source of frustration.

Better options:

If code is dirty and output side is clicked, run the dirty code first before doing anything.
Do some fancy code diffing to apply the DM change to the dirty code.

This problem is mostly fixed with the newer autorun code changes, except that autorun sometimes crashes.
