The path should be visible in the status bar (bottom-left part of the screen).
However, I just noticed that there is no status bar visible at all on the iPad. Other functions like copying the file path using a command aren't working either.
I'll have a closer look over the next few days.
Super, thanks.
It turns out that the mobile app (which includes the iPad version) does not support adding custom status bar items (see https://discord.com/channels/686053708261228577/707816848615407697/832321286092882012).
Since this is where the plugin displays the file path, it won't be possible to use this plugin to see the file path until adding custom status bar items is supported.
Sorry for the misleading info about mobile compatibility. To be honest, I wasn't aware of this plugin metadata at all. I have marked this plugin as desktop only for now.
I'll keep an eye out on the plugin API though and add mobile compatibility as soon as something I can use to display the path is available.
Thank you very much for the reply.
I have marked this plugin as desktop only for now.
I just noticed that the README (and so text shown in Obsidian still says:
The plugin is still marked as compatible for mobile as the command to copy the file path still works on Android (but not iOS/iPadOS).
As soon as I marked the plugin as desktop only, another user reached out saying that they use the command on Android (see https://github.com/ravimashru/obsidian-show-file-path/issues/12), so I enabled mobile mode again with that little note in the README about the limitation. 🙂
Hello. According to this plugin’s page on the Community hub it works in iPad.
I have enabled the plugin and turned on all 3 of its options in settings on my iPad.
where should I look, to see the path, please?
Many thanks.
