It looks like it is only possible to send messages into groups, which have been created by the WA account, that is used in NodeRed for whatsapp-link.
So actually I'm trying to post messages into groups where I've been invited to, even if I have admin privileges or not (doesn't matter), messages send from chats-out to the chat-id of the group, do not arrive/appear.
Trying so, with chat groups I've created on my own, the message immediately appears in the chat.
@irqnet - I believe I have exactly the same issue:
Messages to individuals work flawlessly.
Messages to newer WhatsApp groups work flawlessly.
Messages to older WhatsApp groups don't work at all.
The groupID (also chatID, remoteJid) look different in newer WhatsApp test groups I've created than from older WhatsApp groups I've been a member of for a while:
Older groupIDs (extracted from messages to the group sent by someone else) seem to be in the format of 4478494xxxxx-15883xxxxx@g.us (my mobile number followed by a '-' followed by some other id).
Newer groupIDs are in the format of 1203632033628xxxxx@g.us and work every time (with or without the trailing '@g.us')
