u agent switcher makes the audio of videos muffled(as if they have lower playback speeds/slow motion) #109

You know how when you slow a video down the audio of the video also slows down, sounds as if its muffled etc.. ( go slow down a video on youtube to see) User agent switcher does exactly that on many websites that hosts videos, (does not do it in youtube so don't try there) video itself is not slowed down but audio sounds like it is. The problem goes away when you disable UA Switcher

Can you provide more info? I am not able to reproduce this. Please share sample page with this issue. Also let me know what is the user-agent string.

Sorry man it's been months I stopped using the switcher because of this. strings were whatever the latest 2-3 versions of safari chrome firefox etc..( and I also changed the operating system not just browsers ) so I don't remember the exact combinations. It did it on news website videos I was using. Cumhuriyet.com.tr birgun.net NEVER on youtube. I then I tried vimeo . didn't do it there either tried.tried pornhub did it on there too. So this did not happen on every website and never happened on youtube. I don't know exactly how to recreate it either. I don't remember what other sites I was having problems with it's been a long time

Happens exactly on my end, too, on Twitter.

Sample page: https://twitter.com/SamandColby/status/1248733499768451072

User-agent string: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/87.0.4280.107 Safari/537.36

On Firefox Browser 86.0 (64-bit) on Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon.

Thanks.

it happens on my computer as well.. just a random example.. https://www.eurosport.com/snooker/scottish-open/2021-2022/he-s-fuming-john-higgins-unimpressed-with-promo-picture_vid1586135/video.shtml

i use zorin os 15.3 lite firefox 95.0 (64-bit)..

if i change the browser to anything other than firefox, the audio does not sound correct.. for example..

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/92.0.4482.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/92.0.874.0

or

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.20.25 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.4 Safari/533.20.27

but if i set firefox as the browser and change the OS, it works fine..

i do not understand these things very well, but it seems like maybe the website itself uses different set of settings for each browser and when it sees something else other than firefox as the browser, it changes the settings to the spesified browser and my actual browser, firefox, cannot handle the settings.. so maybe there is nothing to do with the extension..

but i just wanted to let people know.. maybe somebody can find a solution..

edit: and yes, as written above, youtube and yewtu.be and dailymotion and most of the other sites work without any problem..
