compatibility with track clip pro? #90

Does linux-track work with the track clip Pro
(http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/product-TrackClip-PRO.html) ?

I assume so, but just wanted to make sure before purchasing. I'm not sure if
the points are arranged exactly the same way they are with the normal hat clip.

Hello,

yes, TrackClip Pro is supported - just select it in the ltr_gui's second pane
as your "model"...

Kind regards,

Michal

Sorry, follow up question :) I stumbled on this post with the picture of
dancers at the bottom:

Apparently reflective tape that you can get in an auto parts store reflects IR
well. If I take an existing headset and just put the tape on it on 3 spots how
well would that work? Is it possible to specify a custom 'model'? Depending on
the headset I get I don't know how easy it'll be to position the tap similarly
to the hat clip.

Hello,

it should work, as TrackClip is using the exactly same thing...

You can create custom model, just use the appropriate type/configuration and
fill in the actual dimensions and select that it is a reflective model.

One word of caution - you didn't specify which tracing device you use; if you
use webcam with IR filter, the reflected light might not be strong enough to
"burn" through...

Kind regards,

Michal
