Description

Hallo, Somehow does the Library Search (for playlists) not find all of my (private) playlists... (see screen). There are a lot more playlists in my library starting with "My", but the search result lists only a few.

and why does the last entry is shown at all ? (I am searching with "My " and "Spotify most played ...." does not contain a "My"

Steps To Reproduce

as my playlists are private it will not be possible to reproduce it for the extension author...

Hey, thanks for the report!

The way this currently works is:

It fetches your latest 50 playlists — in the same order as they are in the Spotify's sidebar
The Spotify API doesnt know about "pinned", so they'll remain in the order that they were before being pinned
When you search, it's actually just searching the 50 playlists that have been previously fetched

This is probably why you're not seeing some of them.

Solution:

Ideally, we need to load more than 50 playlists, but that requires pagination. We're working on a pagination API so we can do that properly, but that doesnt yet exist
When you search, it will search locally but also across items that were not fetched

I'll try to improve this, and will report back.

Thanks for explaining the issue.

I have indeed a ton of playlists, albums, artists, etc. in my library. The limit of 50 initial items is a bit of a problem in my case, since most of the entries are 'not found' even when I re-search with a different string or selection.

Would it be an option to start the library search once a search string is entered?

In the 'regular' search it is already the case, first a string needs to be entered and it will probably find the entry if a long enough string is entered.

In any case, keep up the great work.
