We use mailman on Hostgator for the mailing lists. We need to install mailman and migrate the data to linode in order to preserve the mailing list structure.

Also, I was looking into MailChimp and since we are a smaller organization it might be useful to use their services for free since we will be under 12k subs: http://mailchimp.com/pricing/free/ . This app will also probably be useful in the future: http://mailchimp.com/features/mobile-signup-forms/

That looks way better in my opinion.

It doesn't allow listservs. I can see it as a supplement to mailman but it's more of a hassle especially for eboard members who have used the listserv so we should still install mailman. It allows us to do more customization if it's on our server.

I was just giving my opinion due to the extra features MailChimp provides over a typical listserv. We should install mailman for now and then possibly do some test runs with MailChimp to see which one we like best and then make the decision from that point on.

Going with MailChimp and Google Groups combo
