Join the WiFi on another machine and then scan your LAN to see what IP address the pi has.

through the wlan0 it shows 192.168.100.1 but it doesnt work for some reason.
Did you perform manual install or quick install? Seems like a firewall issue or it is possible that actual node application is not added to the startup or crontab. If you ssh in does ps aux | grep booth Report back any running processes?

Also there should be a log file in the log folder in the Api folder of the project on your pi. What does it state? If there was an issue with starting the process it would be logged there.

and under src/html/api, the log folder contains no file. but under dist/api/log there are 3 files, access error and warning. all three are empty.
Hmmm okay. Can you open chromium and manually try to visit 127.0.0.1 to see if it is just a networking issue or if it is something else? We’re there any errors reported when performing the quick install? I am assuming you were using a fresh copy of raspian. Is there something else running on port 80? Like possibly Apache?

i visited 127.0.0.1 manually and the photobooth client opened up. no errors during installation and its kind of not a fresh install, i had apache before but i uninstalled that and deleted the old index.html file that was there with it.
There are many things that could have happened in the quick install process. Trying to narrow it down. What happens when you run npm install -g frontend-magic Does it install successfully? Trying to eliminate an old version of nodejs as a possibility. If not, make sure you have a recent version of nodejs.

it gives me an error, this is what i get : npm ERR! code EAI_AGAIN npm ERR! errno EAI_AGAIN npm ERR! request to https://registry.npmjs.org/frontend-magic failed, reason : getadrinfo EAI AGAIN registry.npmjs, org
is this because i have to access to the internet currently? will it work if i connect my ethernet cable?
Yep, you need internet for the quick install. Just plug in Ethernet.

okay, its installed now but there were a lot of warn messages in between
Warnings are fine. Just trying to eliminate that as an issue. Can you ping 192.168.100.1 From the pi?

yessss!!! works perfectly thank youuuuu
cant see the output from my webcam though :(
what Kind of cam? A lot of cams don’t show nice previews in chromium... because they respond with no width and height. That is why I don’t use the official pi cam. They default to like 25px x 25px in a browser. Most Logitechs are good.

its a logitech webcam
in the guideline it said that i need to allow access to the camera, how do i do that?
the fullscreen browser still shows the same error, but when i open it seperately on a different window, it shows the gui :/
Chromium should ask when it launches the first time. You could try rebooting and see if it pops up again when chromium launches. Or you can manually visit the settings in chromium and add the up address to permanently allow.

yeah, the browser opened on its own and showed the error
If frontend magic wasn’t working, you may need to run the manual install steps that are from the frontend-magic portion... the package command, etc.

No, not needed. You can probably just run quick install again. Chromium is finicky with permissions from websites that don’t use ssl.

When I setup the quick install, I assumed it would be from a fresh copy of raspian. That would be my next option as I only tested the quick install on my end on fresh sd cards.

im getting an error while setting up nginx, it says
Job for nginx.service failed because the control process exited with error code
What setup? Are you re installing Nginx? Is that error happening when you try to start or restart nginx? I am unsure at this point where you are in steps. Did you rerun the quick install on a fresh raspian?

i did the quick installation all over again and i noticed that nginx error, figured out that you were right and apache2 is still running on port 80. just figuring out how to stop it now
Or you could apt-get remove it. Good work. I suggest using apt-get to uninstall Apache and nginx and then rerun the quick install.

any suggestions on how i can fix it?
Did you already have hostapd on the pi before the process. In the reference folder of the project, there are configs that get copied during install. Can you verify that your dhcpd.conf file matches the one in the reference folder.

i had hostapd before but i uninstalled it and deleted all the config files before doing the quickinstall. everything in my dhcpd.conf file matches the one from reference folder
Do you have your windows machine set for automatic DHCP?

when my pi reboots, the chromium browser goes fullscreen and says "This site cant be reached, 192.168.100.1 refused to connect" the AP is on, and ive tried connecting to other wifi devices and going to the link but it still does not work. tried connecting an ethernet cable and that doesnt help either. Please help?
edit : when i connect the ethernet, and use ifconfig to find the ip, it shows me the ip through the ethernet and the photobooth works on that but the camera doesnt show any image. my webcam does work when i used fswebcam through the terminal.
