Use a CD or DVD to diffract light

• [ ] Diffract light with a CD and a white light source
• [ ] Select the wavelength with a slit
• [x] Use a stepper motor to choose what color goes through the slit

A setup that was tried using a white LED flashlight, a CD, a stepper motor, and a small slit

Trying to cut the CD to have something nice to use. However, they are extremely brittle and are hard to cut properly.
