A couple of newer C/C++ open source clinet projects are:
Zinf, has streaming SHOUTcast, Icecast, RTP http://sourceforge.net/projects/zinf/
CoolPlayer, Shoutcast/http MP3/Ogg streaming http://sourceforge.net/projects/coolplayer/

XBMC now support SHOUTcast, changing this FR to IceCast :)

thebeast has posted in the forums caliming that MPlayer, VideoLan (VLC), ogg123 and XMMS now all support streaming OGG from the internet. I do however know if this include streaming streams from IceCast/IceCast2 servers or not(?)

SHOUTcast/IceCast internet stream reception.
SHOUTcast + IceCast internet radio fro MP3 and OGG. Support for .PLS & .SC & .M3U internet playlists.
Please port latest libshout 2.x CVS code into XBMC.

PS! IceCast.org recoment use latest CVS code.
Note! libshout 2.x is not API-compatible with libshout 1.0 and also "Note that icecast 1 is "deprecated and unsupported, and may possibly induce nausea in small children, hair loss in men, and estrogen fluctuations in women." ;-)
