Can't build on OS X 10.5.2 #3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. python setup.py build

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It doesn't build; I get the following error from distutils:
distutils.errors.DistutilsPlatformError: $MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET mismatch: 
now "10.3" but 
"10.5" during configure

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mac OS X 10.5.2

Can you check with the newversion beta if the code compiles on MacOS X.
